Philips MyJam Freshtones bluetooth headset review

More bluetooth headphones to test !!! And yes all the brands update their bluetooth catalog to compete in this new field more than competitive now that Apple has removed the jack port of its latest iPhone 7. These are brands well present on the market audio to secure their place by taking the bluetooth train and especially bluetooth headphones. Because in fact, where headsets are already present on the bluetooth side, bluetooth headphones were hitherto much more discreet. So let’s test these MyJam Freshtones together to see what they have in their stomachs.

Ergonomics

MyJams are made up of a battery pack and a button pack. Until then it’s classic for bluetooth headphones. But their layout is slightly different than for the Sudio Vasa Bla for example. Instead of playing with symmetry, Philips placed the battery pack in the center of the cable so that it fell into the neck. We find the buttons on the left side.

I find that this distribution makes sense. However, I noted that the battery pack pulls on the headphones and it is disturbing in some cases. For the rest, the headphones are pleasant to wear and the buttons practical to use.

Battery

The battery is significantly smaller than in the last model I tested . And I already complained about it. So on this model this poses a real problem for me. 4h30min in reading is really too low. In a normal day I will necessarily need to recharge them and it is not practical.

My opinion

These headphones seem quite robust . I took them with me everywhere during my test and they never failed in the task . However, they often dragged themselves into the bag voluntarily without special protection or storage. Like some kind of house stress test. I find that classic headphones are more solid than in-ear because the rubber at the end of the intras always scares me.

The black points of this model for me remain: the battery and the sound quality. The battery life is really not famous and recharging is a constraint.  As for the sound quality, it remains basic, without surprise, without anything convincing.

However the price and the ergonomics embellish the picture of these MyJam Freshtones headphones. To conclude on what I particularly liked: They are robust therefore easy to use. By that I mean we don’t bother to protect them more than necessary on the go. You can always have them on hand or in a pocket. For me it greatly improves the user experience and therefore it has a lot of value.
