The name of this smartphone is not just impossible to pronounce, it is also the name of a product that finally dares to really innovate. It is not simply a question of removing a jack port but squarely to question elements such as the speaker for the ear (does it have a sexier name?), The proximity sensor or even the front camera location. But the most obvious on this smartphone is of course its almost borderless screen which occupies 91.3% of the front of the smartphone (screen-to-chassis ratio).
The loudspeaker for communications is therefore replaced by a piezoelectric system: the vibrations of sound propagate in a ceramic frame and you just have to stick your ear anywhere on the screen to hear. The proximity sensor, meanwhile, is replaced by a solution using ultrasound.
It is the well known Philippe Starck who signs the design of this extraordinary smartphone and it is really successful. Note the gigantic size (6.4 inches of screen) of the phone next to an iPhone 7 plus, for example:
As for the thickness I keep a reserve because with all that it contains, it is still necessary to put the components somewhere… Quick charge, fingerprint reader, XXL storage, battery to make many competitors pale, this Mi Mix is not content with its single screen, it innovates in many aspects.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix (admit that it’s not easy to pronounce!) Is announced for November 4 in China from 475 euros for the 4GB RAM / 128 GB storage version. Hoping that the marketing will spread quickly in other countries.
I leave you with a video to get started with the Xiaomi Mi Mix by the youtuber Marques Brownlee followed by the advertising video from Xiaomi and I await your feedback on this smartphone in the comments!
